There is breaking news this week as California has cancelled the sales of all flavored tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes. This happened after California Proposition 31 was passed in November by popular vote. Big tobacco companies made an attempt to get it overturned by the Supreme Court, however, they did not succeed and the Supreme Court denied hearing the case.
What Products Will be Affected?
Any product that contains tobacco and is artificially flavored will no long be able to be sold in California. This includes a wide variety of products such as blunt wraps, cigarettes, E-cigs, vaporizers, and other flavored smoking products. Any tobacco product that is fruit flavored, menthol flavored, or includes any other other type of artificial flavoring will no longer be able to get sold in California. It also includes any vaping device that carries essential oils that can be artificially flavored. This ban takes place today, Wednesday 12/21/2022, until further notice.
